Passing the CPA Exam With These Simple Tips HomeThis is a featured page

What follows are several CPA prep tips that have helped me pass the CPA, and I'm certain that they'll serve you well too. Pass the CPA exam you will, finally ¨C it is bound to happen unless you give up.

1)Adopt the Appropriate Mentality
Passing the CPA is not easy. Passing the CPA is a great project that will call for much effort and time in order to accomplish. 2)Get Help From Friends and Family
Trying to pass the CPA is not a simple undertaking, however you won't have to go about it by yourself. You should ask for assistance from your family members & friends by telling them reasons why you want to pass the CPA and how time-consuming this task is. If they are supportive of what you're trying to accomplish, they may assist you with some of your current obligations (for example chores such as cleaning), and will understand if you can't be present at every gathering.

3)Stay in Great Health
Eat a balanced diet, exercise regularly, and above all, get at least 6-8 hours of sleep each night, and take a 15-30 minute nap in the afternoon if you have to. As Well, do not forget to schedule regular study breaks - these will assistance you to stay focused and refreshed, and as well help you to absorb knowledge more easily when you return after the study break. Preparing for the CPA exam can be quite exhausting. 4)Make Use of a Good CPA Review Program
5)Find a Study Buddy - Or Two
Locate other people that are also preping for CPA exams in your geogrphical area and invite them to study together. Create a strict study schedule and ask everyone to commit to it by scheduling other obligations around it. Study buddies can help you to be more disciplined, and two heads are often better than one when it comes to solving tough concepts or problems. 6)Only Study One Section At a Time
Many people find it overwhelming when trying to study for all 4 sections of the CPA exam at any one time. That would be too much material to understand at the same time. A better strategy would be to focus only on one single section at a time, do the exam for that section, take a break, and then start studying for the next section etc. Another suggestion would be to try for the hardest section first (the one that is hardest for you - this will vary from person to person), because once you pass your first section, you only have eighteen months to pass the remaining three sections. Getting rid of that most difficult section first will minimize your chances of running out of time and having the eighteen-month window expire on you.

7)Concentrate on Problem Areas
Reviewing materials you know the best may give you that good feeling, but it certainly won't help your exam scores by much ultimately. Look through all of your learning materials, identify your problem areas, and stay focused on them until you have conquered them.

8)Take Lots of Notes
It is crucial to take ample notes while you're studying, so that you'll have something to study from during the last few days before the actual exam. Since your short-term memory is, well, short-term, materials you cover during those last few days will be remembered the most clearly on your exam day. 9)Use a Stopwatch
While you're doing practice questions, time yourself as if you're actually doing the exam. This will train your brain to perform under pressure and better prepare you for the actual exam. Do as many practice questions as you can. By doing this, you will understand the material better, and also feel more positive about passing the exam - both of which will result in increasing your exam score!
